Cardinals, Millionaires and Mavericks oh my!!
by Len Nunes

Your Edmonton Prospects (2-8) begin a 4 game road trip tonight and tomorrow in Yorkton, Saskatchewan versus the Cardinals (4-7).  Of course, that is if Mother Nature allows the two teams to play!  For two consecutive years now, the series between these two teams has been washed out.

To prep you for the series, here is a comparison of each teams hitting totals so far in 2012:
  • Edmonton10 Games, 48 Runs, 86 Hits, 3 HR, 40 RBI, 10 Stolen Bases, and a .249 batting average
  • Yorkton - 11 Games, 31 Runs, 75 Hits, 1 HR, 27 RBI, 8 Stolen Bases, and a .225 batting average
On Wednesday and Thurday, your Prospects travel to Melville to play the Millionaires (6-7).  Last season, the two clubs split their two games series.  The Prospects would win game one 17-4, their offense launched by a familiar name.  CF Grant Glasser went 4-5 with 5 RBI, a double and a triple.

Your Prospects then travel home on Friday June 22nd to face the Medicine Hat Mavericks (9-5).
